I am the Program Chair and an Assistant Professor for Public Health and Healthcare Administration undergraduate programs at Mercy College of Health Sciences. I have a PhD in Public Health- Epidemiology from Walden University, a Master’s degree in Public Health from Des Moines University, a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Simpson College, and an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory technology from St Paul Tech (yes I’m a native Minnesotan now living in IA), I am also board certified from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Prior to coming to Mercy College of Health Science I worked for the state health department (Iowa Department of Public Health) and local health department (Polk County Health Dept.). While working full-time in Public Health I also taught as adjunct faculty at Des Moines University, and Walden University for their Masters of Public Health and Health Care Administration programs. In addition, I am a certified Medical Laboratory Technician and a certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Yoga Instructor (yea ,I know what a combo? ) and have worked in variety of wellness and healthcare facilities over the past 25 years. I am passionate about Public Health and adressing the needs of populations across the globe.
