"Sars-CoV-2:The long Road here"

The Heartland Global Health Consortium (HGHC) is entering its 13th year and once again this year’s annual conference will be a held virtually. The Heartland Global Health Consortium annual conference will take place via a free Zoom webinar on November 11th, 2021, from 3:30-5:30 pm (CST).

The topic of this year’s annual conference continues to explore issues related to the global pandemic. The webinar examines the impact and effects from the covid pandemic over the past two years. We look at the long road to how we got here and discuss where we are going and what we can do to improve global health moving forward.

Presenters in the fields of public health, science, and medicine will share their expertise on vaccine inequities and the impact among vulnerable populations, and vaccine hesitancy and how that affects the current and future state of health locally and globally. Additionally, there will be a Q&A session that includes a panel of experts who will share their experiences and provide a community, clinical, and patient perspective from the past year.

Research presentations will be presented the week before the webinar on November 4, 2021, using a real time virtual format, where judges will critique presentations. Recognized student awards will be announced at the end of the webinar on November 11th. 2021.  Please see “Call for Research” details below for research abstract submissions.

Once again, the Heartland Global Health Consortium will be again honoring a member of the Iowa Global Health community with our Heartland Global Health Advocate Award.
